In accordance with the instructions of the Chief Executive of Macao No. 268/2009, Macao Tourism and Casino Career Centre stopped its operation on August 31.  From September 1, Macao polytechnic Institute shall take over King Light Garden campus which specialized in gaming training and set up GTR center(Gaming Teaching and Research center).

“Gaming Teaching and Research Centre” will work towards three aspects; First, in responding effectively to the needs of the community, it shall offer more casino management training courses, so that more qualified local staff will be promoted in management positions, and continue to provide quality training services to the related industry.

Second, for those interested in pursuing further studies, it shall provide in-service training opportunities. In the academic year 2010/2011, GTR Centre is scheduled to start"Bachelor of Social Science in Gaming and Recreational Management" programs aiming to train local high-level gaming management personnel.

Third, it shall promote regional academic research in gaming field, carry out relevant researches of gaming industry’s impact on society and economy, through those research projects, it shall provide decision-making advisory services to the government, enterprises and society.

The establishment of “Gaming Teaching and Research center” carries on the existing strengths of Macao Tourism and Casino Career Center, continue to innovate and definitely turn a new page on the training of gaming industry personnel and scientific researches.
